Ajax gives verdict on Calvin Bassey’s €21M transfer move to Fulham

Since his move from Rangers FC to Ajax, Calvin Bassey’s time in Ajax Amsterdam has been faced with a lot of criticism

Thirty-six times Eredivisie champions, Ajax Amsterdam, has made a significant decision regarding Calvin Bassey’s potential transfer to Fulham, Soccernet.ng reports.

According to Dutch media outlet, Telegraaf, the 23-year-old defender will not accompany the team to Germany as they leave on Monday afternoon. Instead, the club’s management has allowed Bassey to engage in talks with Fulham, allowing him to explore the possibility of completing a transfer.

The move comes after fruitful negotiations between Ajax and the Premier League club. Both parties have agreed on the transfer fee, setting it at a substantial 21 million euros.

It is noteworthy that Ajax had secured Bassey’s services from Rangers FC just a year earlier for a fee of 23 million euros, making this potential transfer a notable development in the player’s career.

Bassey’s time with Ajax has been faced with a lot of backlash, and it has also showcased his defensive abilities and catch the attention of other clubs, including Fulham.

The London-based team is keen on acquiring the young talent and has been in talks with the Dutch giants to reach an agreement on the transfer.

As negotiations continue, the football community eagerly await the final outcome of these discussions, and should the transfer proceed as planned, it will mark a significant move in Super Eagles star’s professional journey, potentially opening up new opportunities and challenges in the English top-flight league.
