Samuel Chukwueze’s remarkable performances for Villarreal have attracted the attention of several top clubs in Europe, all vying for his signature
Villarreal president, Fernando Roig Alfonso, has stated that he is unaware of any potential move for Samuel Chukwueze to join Real Madrid this summer, Soccernet.ng reports.
The Nigerian international has been heavily linked with a transfer to Serie A giants AC Milan, as well as clubs like Aston Villa, Arsenal, and Real Madrid, following his impressive season with the Yellow Submarine.
Earlier reports suggested that the Real Madrid president had expressed his intentions to sign Chukwueze, but in an exclusive interview with Marca, Roig revealed his lack of knowledge regarding such interest.
When questioned about the speculation surrounding the futures of Nicolas Jackson and Chukwueze, with the latter being linked to Real Madrid, Roig commented, “(Jackson) has a release clause of around €40m at the moment, and there are other players like Samu (Chukwueze). Jackson is an example of a player who was on the verge of leaving in the winter, but circumstances prevented it. He has demonstrated his value with exceptional performances and goals.”
Roig further added, “We currently have no news regarding Real Madrid’s interest in Chukwueze,” as quoted by Football Espana.
Chukwueze, who has scored 13 goals and provided 11 assists for Quique Setien’s side this season, has reportedly attracted the attention of Newcastle, intensifying the competition for his signature in the upcoming summer transfer window.
Villarreal will undoubtedly face a challenging period as these top clubs come knocking for Chukwueze’s services.
