Roma are looking to add some firepower to their forward line, but they do not have the financial muscle
Italian Serie A club AS Roma are weighing up the possibility of signing Super Eagles forward Kelechi Iheanacho from Leicester City this summer, Soccernet reports.
Last season, Iheanacho got relegated from the Premier League with Leicester City, but he was awarded the best player at the club.
Following their drop, Leicester City are set to lose some of their best legs. Especially as some of their big stars are in the final laps of their contracts.
Nigerian forward Iheanacho has just one year left on his deal, and he has failed to reach an agreement for an extension with the club.
Roma star striker Tammy Abraham is set to miss the first half of the season, and according to Sports Witness, Iheanacho is one of the options that they are looking at.
Roma want to sign Gianluca Scamacca from West Ham, but the Hammers are holding on tight to the Italian striker. As such, the club could exploit the possibility of getting Iheanacho this summer. Meanwhile, they also have eyes on Zambian star Patson Daka.
Iheanacho is valued at €18million per Transfermarkt, a fee that Roma may be able to afford.
