Chukwueze has attracted many clubs this season, and AC Milan are the latest club to show interest
Former Serie A champions AC Milan have initiated contact with Villarreal for the signing of Super Eagles forward Samuel Chukwueze, Soccernet.ng reports.
Chukwueze had a great season campaign with Villarreal. The Super Eagles forward had his best season in terms of goal contributions. He registered 13 goals and 11 assists in 50 appearances for the Yellow Submarine.
The 24-year-old winger was a crucial part of coach Quique Setien’s side, helping the club to a fifth-place finish in Laliga.
Chukwueze’s displays have caught the eyes of some top clubs in Europe. West Ham and Real Madrid are some of the clubs that have been linked with Chukwueze.
However, they now have company, as Di Marzio reports that AC Milan have joined the race for the Nigerian, and they have even made contact with Villarreal.
Chukwueze has just one year left on his contract at Villarreal, and he has refused an extension. As such, the Yellow Submarine would have to sell him this summer. Soccernet reported earlier that Villarreal want €80million before they let Chukwueze leave. However, they may have to succumb to a cheaper price if they fail to get up to that.
