“We came to war”- Brazilian youngster confesses after outclassing the Flying Eagles with his goal

Nigeria was beaten by the junior Selecao by a score of 2 goals to 0 to go on to the next round of the U-20 World Cup tournament

Coritiba FC defender, Jean Pedroso, has spoken out on his team’s performance against the Flying Eagles of Nigeria, Soccernet.ng understands.

By a score of two goals to zero, the young Selecao upset Ladan Bosso’s squad and ended Nigeria’s winning streak as they built on their victory against the Dominican Republic.

Ramon Hubner’s team’s first goal scorer against Nigeria, Jean, acknowledged the significance of the match and said that the Brazilians had to win.

The South Americans earned three points and their first win after beating the Dominican Republic, but it was not enough to advance them to the next round of the tournament.

However, a win against Nigeria gave them a total of 6 points, which ultimately allowed them to advance to the next round of the competition.

The 19-year-old confirmed his delight after scoring his second goal of the competition and shared how they expected Ladan Bosso’s side to be a tough opponent.

“Very happy for my second goal. We knew the difficulty of today’s game, the quality of their team. We came to war and we couldn’t take our foot off. Our objective is only one: to be champion. So let’s go strong.” he said, as cited by Globo.

FThree teams—Nigeria, Italy, and Brazil—shared a total of six points after Brazil’s victory against Nigeria, advancing to the next round of the competition.
