San Antonio FC hand Nigerian journeyman 25-day contract

San Antonio FC has made an exciting addition to their roster with the signing of Ayodeji Adeniran to a 25-day contract, the club announced on Tuesday, Soccernet.ng understands.

The move brings Ayodeji together with his younger brother Samuel, who is already a forward for the team, marking the first time the siblings will play on the same professional team.

Ayodeji Adeniran, commonly known as Ayo, is expected to bring versatility and intelligence to the team, capable of playing in multiple positions and adding depth in attack to San Antonio.

Before joining San Antonio FC, Adeniran spent the previous season competing for Kicker Emden in Germany’s fourth division, the Regionalliga Nord.

During his time with Emden, Adeniran showcased his skills in 21 matches, starting each one. In a total of 1,875 minutes on the pitch, the Houston native demonstrated his attacking prowess by scoring two goals and providing three assists.

Adeniran’s journey to professional soccer included a collegiate career at Alabama A&M, where he played before transferring to UAB.

During his junior season with the Blazers, Adeniran showed his dedication by appearing in every match. As a sophomore, he made a significant impact with two goals and five assists.

The signing of Ayodeji Adeniran to San Antonio FC’s roster is seen as a strategic move to strengthen the team and provide increased options in various positions.

The 25-day contract will allow both the player and the club to assess their compatibility and potential for a longer-term collaboration.
