Nigerians abroad: Ejuke’s Hertha hit rock-bottom; Thompson bags brace; Adams, Yakubu brilliant

Nigerian football talents illuminated the global stage on Friday showcasing their skills and contributing to enthralling encounters in various leagues. Soccernet.ng highlights their most significant contributions here:

Ifeagwu Ojukwu emerged as the hero for Abahani Chittagong in the Bangladeshi Premier League, securing a brilliant brace in their thrilling [3-2] home triumph over Abahani Dhaka.

Emeka Ogbugh impressed for the visitors, providing the assist for one of their consolation goals.

Chidera Ejuke made a second-half appearance as a substitute for Hertha Berlin in their challenging [5-2] defeat against FC Cologne in the German Bundesliga. Hertha face possible relegation as they languish at the bottom of the league table, five points adrift of safety, with two matches remaining.

Gavi Thompson displayed his talent by netting two beautiful goals in three minutes for FC Hegelmann. However, his efforts were in vain as his team succumbed to a disappointing [2-3] defeat against FA Šiauliai in the Lithuanian A Lyga.

Henry Akujobi contributed a crucial goal for Almere City, securing a commendable [2-2] away draw against Den Bosch in the Dutch Eerste Divisie. This result has secured a promotion play-off spot for Almere City, significantly enhancing their chances of progressing to the Eredivisie.

In Norway, Akor Adams emerged as the hero for Lillestrom in the Eliteserien, delivering a smashing 93rd-minute winner in their hard-fought [0-1] away victory against Odds BK. This marks the former Sogndal star’s sixth goal in his first six games of the campaign.

In Slovakia, Philip Azango netted the equalizer, and Chinonso Emeka added a second-half winner, leading Trenčín to a thrilling [1-2] comeback victory against Zlaté Moravce.

Over to Sweden, Aliyu Yakubu made an immediate impact as a substitute, scoring within six minutes of coming off the bench to help AFC Eskilstuna secure a crucial [2-3] away victory against Jönköpings Södra in the Superettan.

In the Spanish Segunda Division,
Kenneth Omeruo made a solid contribution off the bench, as Leganes sealed a comprehensive [0-3] away victory against Burgos.
