Excellent Nigerians in Italy: Serie A nominates Osimhen, two others in Team of the Season

Lega Serie A has unveiled the highly anticipated list of players nominated for the EA SPORTS FIFA Team of the Season, and among the esteemed names are three Nigerian talents making their mark in Italian football, Soccernet.ng reports.

Napoli’s Victor Osimhen and Atalanta’s Ademola Lookman have been recognized for their exceptional performances in attack, while Udinese’s Destiny Udogie has been acknowledged for his defensive prowess.

Victor Osimhen’s incredible goal-scoring ability was pivotal in powering Napoli to their first league title in 33 years.

The 24-year-old striker fired an impressive tally of 23 goals throughout the season, solidifying his status as one of Serie A’s most formidable attackers.

Destiny Udogie, who is set to join Tottenham Hotspur at the end of the season, has been a consistent presence for Udinese.

The 20-year-old defender has made 31 appearances in Serie A, showcasing his defensive skills while also contributing three goals and four assists.

Despite being hampered by injuries in the latter part of the season, Ademola Lookman’s outstanding performances in the first half of the campaign have earned him a well-deserved nomination.

The former Leicester City player made an immediate impact in his debut season in the Italian top flight, netting an impressive 13 goals and providing four assists in 28 league appearances.

Remarkably, only three players in Serie A, including compatriot Victor Osimhen, have scored more goals.

Recognizing these three Nigerian stars highlights the growing influence and talent of Nigerian footballers in the Italian league.

Their nominations are a testament to their contributions and their ability to make a significant impact on their respective teams.

As fans eagerly await the announcement of the final EA SPORTS FIFA Team of the Season, the Nigerian football community celebrates the achievements of Osimhen, Lookman, and Udogie, who have rightfully earned their place among Serie A’s finest players.
