Talented Nigerian forward Rafiu Durosinmi will continue his football journey in the Doosan Arena as Viktoria Plzen has successfully reached an agreement with Karvina to exercise their option on the player, Soccernet.ng understands.
This decision ensures that Durosinmi will remain with Plzen beyond the current season, according to journalist Jonas Bartos from Denik Sport, via iSport.
Despite the impending arrival of a new investor and an upcoming overhaul of the coaching staff, Plzen is determined to secure the services of Durosinmi.
The exact transfer fee for Durosinmi’s acquisition remains undisclosed. However, it is anticipated that the promising attacker could command a higher sum than the current valuation of €250,000 listed on Transfermarkt.
Durosinmi joined Viktoria Plzeň on loan from Czech second-tier club MFK Karvina in January, with an option to buy included in the deal.
The 20-year-old was enjoying an outstanding season at MFK Karvina, where he was one of the club’s key players. with twelve goal involvements in nineteen games across all competitions.
It took a while for the Lagos-born forward to get going with the outgoing Czech champions, but he has not looked back since making his first start for Plzen in late April.
Durosinmi’s recent performances have been impressive, having made a notable impact against teams such as Sparta, Slovacko, and Sigma.
Plzen’s decision to secure Durosinmi’s talent comes when the team seeks to rebound from a challenging spring season marked by seven defeats and a missed opportunity to defend their title.
The Nigerian striker’s impact has been pivotal during this period, with his three goals in the past four rounds, including a stunning opener against Sparta at Letná.
By finalizing the transfer deal with Karvina, Plzen not only ensures the continuity of Durosinmi’s growth within their ranks but also provides a substantial financial boost to Karvina.
