Lookman missed the game in Bergamo with a slight injury, but his absence was not felt
Super Eagles attacker Ademola Lookman was unavailable for Atalanta, but his absence was not felt, as they claimed a big 3-1 victory over Roma Soccernet.ng reports.
Lookman missed Atalanta’s 1-1 at Fiorentina last week because of a slight injury. However, he could not regain fitness fast enough before La Dea’s clash against Roma at the Gewiss Stadium.
Nonetheless, Gian Pero Gasperini employed a front three of Duvan Zapata, Mario Pasalic, and Teun Koopmeiners, and it paid off.
Goals from Koopmeiners, Pasalic, and Rafael Toloi sealed the victory for the Bergamo big boys against Roma. Lorenzo Pellegrini scored for the Giallorossi late in the game to seal the 3-1.
Lookman should be fit enough to make Atalanta’s fixture at Torino. But he may not be in the starting lineup.
He is the highest goalscorer for Atalanta in the league with 13 goals. And Gasperini may still count on him to deliver the goods as Atalanta push for a UEFA Champions League spot.
