“I’m always ready” – Casa Pia’s best dribbler hungry for Super Eagles call-up

The Super Eagles striker made his debut for Nigeria last September but he has not made the team again since then

Casa Pia star Godwin Saviour has stated that he is ready to play for the Super Eagles whenever he receives a call-up Soccernet.ng reports.

The last three years have been wonderful for 26-year-old attacker Saviour. He has grown from being without a club in 2020 per transfermarkt to becoming one of the most important players for the newly-promoted Casa Pia.

Saviour is the best dribbler at his club, with 28 successful dribbles. In the Portugal Liga, the Nigeria striker ranks eighth for most attempted dribbles.

His pace and trickery has proven to be a vital weapon for coach Filipe Martins this season. And his brilliance earned him a call-up to the Super Eagles in September 2022.

Saviour got his debut for the Super Eagles in their 2-1 loss to Algeria, replacing Ademola Lookman in the 68th minute.

The 26-year-old striker has revealed that making his debut for Nigeria was exciting. Nonetheless, he is hungry for more after failing to make the previous squad for the Guinea-Bissau doubleheader.

“It was a dream come true to make my debut for the Super Eagles,” Saviour told Proxima Jornada.

“To mix up with the big boys was really amazing. Just imagining how my family, my friends, and my club teammates felt at that moment made me happy.

“I was happy to play, I was really excited. I really want to work hard during training and give my best. At any time when the opportunity comes, I’m always ready to represent my nation,” he added.

The next time the Super Eagles will gather will be in June. But except Saviour ends the season excellently, it may be tough for him to break into the side again because of the abundance of attacking talents for Nigeria.
