Balogun has been linked with many top clubs recently because of his brilliant form for Reims this season
Soccernet.ng reports that Balogun has had an outstanding season at Reims since his season-long loan from Arsenal. The 21-year-old has registered 19 goals and three assists in 32 appearances for the Red and Whites.
Balogun is just two goals behind the Ligue 1 highest goalscorer and France star boy Kylian Mbappe.
His displays have turned heads, and Soccernet reported earlier that some clubs are interested in his services. A return to the Emirates is also on the cards for Balogun, but the situation is a tricky one.
The Gunners already have two top strikers in Eddie Nketiah and Gabriel Jesus. Gabriel Martinelli could also slot into the position. As such, Balogun may not get enough playing time if he returns to his parent club.
However, former Arsenal defender Gallas has advised Balogun to remain at Arsenal and try to fight for a place.
“I don’t think Balogun will start for Arsenal with Jesus at the club,” Galllas told Genting Casino per Metro.
“He’s only 21. You see some players who don’t understand what it takes to play for a club like Arsenal, what they can bring him.
“If he stays at Arsenal he will train with players better than at Reims. His football will improve.
“I’m sure even if he’s a second choice he will get chances. It will be up to him to show what he can do.
“Sometimes, players think they should be starting early. But take it slowly. If he doesn’t go back to Arsenal, maybe he will go on loan again. Look at Saliba. He came back, and he’s performing.
“Balogun has to be patient, and if he gets the chance to come back he should. He can show what he can do when he gets a chance,” Gallas added.
Balogun has two years left on his Arsenal contract, and if he refuses to extend his deal, the Gunners may be forced to sell him. He is valued at €25million per transfermarkt.
The striker plays for the English youth sides, but he can still switch to Nigeria because of his parents.
