Arsenal and West Ham ready to lock horns for Super Eagles star

This season, the Super Eagles star has been one of the standout performers for his team, with 13 goals and 11 assists in 41 appearances

Arsenal and West Ham United are reportedly vying with Real Madrid for the signing of red-hot Nigerian winger Samuel Chukwueze.

The Super Eagles winger attracted media attention as he mesmerised the Santiago Bernabéu crowd and scored twice to give the Yello Submarines the victory against the reigning La Liga champions.

In response, Real Madrid president expressed interest in bringing the young player into Carlo Ancellotti’s team. However, they may face stiff competition from leading English Premier League clubs in the summer.

According to prior speculations, the Nigerian striker would choose to join the La Liga powerhouse over relocating to England or any Italian team.

However, reports suggest that the Vikings may withdraw their interest in Chukwueze owing to his contract’s buyout clause of 80 million euros and his injury record.

Nevertheless, according to Mundo Deportivo, the Premier League’s top-placed Arsenal and West Ham United are reportedly prepared to lock horns to capture the Villarreal winger.

The Yellow Submarine want to bind the 23-year-old to a new contract when his current one at the Estadi de la Ceràmica expires in 2024.

However, Chukwueze’s refusal of the new contract offer is a major factor in the club’s decision to sell him in the next transfer window in order to earn a significant profit from his sale.

If this occurs, the Nigerian may still opt to continue his career in Madrid, following in the footsteps of his hero, Cristiano Ronaldo.
