AFC final: Odion Ighalo sends a message to his Nigerian supporters

Al Hilal forward, Odion Ighalo, has delivered a message to his Nigerian fans ahead of his side’s AFC Champions League final.

The 33-year-old striker asks for the support of his fellow Africans, and he vows to repay them by taking home the Asian Football Confederation’s trophy.

The former Watford forward scored four goals as the Blue Waves defeated Al-Duhail in the semifinals by a score of 7 to 0. Additionally, the Urawa Reds defeated Jeonbuks 3-1 on penalties to advance to the tournament’s final.

After being questioned about what he wants from his Nigerian and African supporters, Ighalo concedes that the game would be tough but asks for their support as Ramón Dáz’s men welcome the Japanese top-level one team to Riyadh.

“The message is simple. All I want from them is support, and I will pay them back with the trophy. Inshallah.

“I know it is not going to be easy tomorrow. It is going to be a tough game. But I promise to give my best and fight till the end of the game.” he said.

Tomorrow at King Fahd International Stadium, Al Hilal will host Maciej Skora’s team for the opening leg of the match before going to Saitama Stadium in Japan for the second leg.
