“Wouldn’t we give Osimhen the Ballon d’Or” – Serie A pundit reveals admiration for Super Eagles striker

The Nigeria international has been unstoppable in Italy and on the continent, and he is already considered among the best strikers on the planet

Football pundit and commentator Fabio Caressa has tipped Napoli striker Victor Osimhen to win the Ballon d’Or if his club lifts the UEFA Champions League trophy this season.

Osimhen notched his 21st goal of the Serie A season at the weekend as his brilliant brace of headers helped Napoli power past Torino on Sunday.

The Nigerian forward has been spectacular even in the UEFA Champions League. He scored three goals across two legs against Eintracht Frankfurt to guide Napoli to the club’s first-ever quarterfinal outing.

Speaking on “Sky Calcio Club,” Caressa lauded Osimhen’s current form, describing him as “truly extraordinary.”

Caressa believes Napoli’s current run of form and performances could see them go all the way in the Champions League this season. If they do, he thinks Osimhen would be a worthy recipient of football’s most prestigious individual award.

“Wouldn’t we give the Ballon d’Or to Osimhen if Napoli were to win the Champions League?” Caressa said.

“Anyway, Napoli is an asset to Italian football and the best showcase for our league. But Osimhen is truly extraordinary; what a season he’s having! We’re all in love with him and Napoli.”

The Nigerian international has been in fine form, with his recent brace against Turin in a 4-0 victory for Napoli underlining his quality and importance to the team.

Caressa is not alone in his admiration for Osimhen, with many fans and pundits praising the striker for his performances this season. Osimhen’s contribution to Napoli’s attack has been instrumental in their push for the Serie A title and their run in the Champions League.

Napoli have a tough challenge ahead of them in their quest for European glory, but with Osimhen in such fine form, the sky could be the limit for the club and their star striker.
