Lazio legend compares Osimhen to Ronaldo

Throughout his career, Ronaldo has proved to be a beast in the air, but a former Lazio star believes Osimhen can measure up

Lazio legend Bruno Giordano believes Cristiano Ronaldo is the only one that is on the same level as Victor Osimhen in attacking aerial balls.

Osimhen has been brilliant for Napoli this season. He has proven to be a reliable goal-poacher, scoring 21 goals in all competitions.

The Super Eagles star has scored some spectacular goals with his feet, but he has also been deadly in aerial situations.

Also, the 24-year-old star currently holds the record for the second-longest jump in Serie A with a height of 258cm. He is only behind AC Milan defender Fikayo Tomori.

Last season, the former Lille man scored seven headers, which was the highest in Serie A. This season, Osimhen has scored six headers in the league.

Napoli play against Lazio this weekend. Ahead of the game, Giordano had compared Osimhen and Lazio hitman Ciro Immobile. He believes that while both are similar in some aspects, Osimhen is better than Immobile in aerial situations.

 

“Both have the same stubbornness and play every ball as if it were the last of their careers,” Giordano said per Napoli Magazine.

“They never spare themselves, this is their common quality.

“However, Osimhen is second to none in the world when it comes to headers, only Cristiano Ronaldo is on the same level.”

 

Osimhen has been unplayable this season, and he is proving that he is one of the top strikers in the world. His versatility and work rate are also vital ingredients in his game.

If he continues at this rate, he could be one of the greatest players that have come out of Nigeria.
