Fulham in pole position to sign Super Eagles star

Fulham would be looking to add reinforcements this summer, and the Super Eagles defender is one of their top targets

English Premier League club Fulham are favourites to sign Super Eagles defender Ola Aina when his contract expires at the end if the season.

Nigeria defender Aina has been one of the most consistent defenders for Torino since his move from Chelsea in 2019. This season, he has made 16 appearances in Serie A.

However, Aina’s contract at Torino is set to expire at the end of the season. And neither party seems interested in signing a renewal.

The Chelsea Academy product has been heavily linked with a transfer to the Premier League. Aina was linked with Leeds United, Fulham, and West Ham last summer, but a deal failed to take place.

But he looks set to leave London this summer, and according to Sportswitness, Fulham would be his likely destination.

The 26-year-old defender spent the 2020/21 season at Craven Cottage, but he left after they got relegated. And he is keen on returning to familiar surroundings.

Aina would be a good option for Marco Silva at the right-back position.
