Dortmund names Nigerian-German forward Karim Adeyemi the rookie of the month for January

The quickest player in the German Bundesliga at the moment is Karim Adeyemi, a German international with Nigerian heritage.

German International of Nigerian descent, Karim Adeyemi, has been named Borussia Dortmund’s Rookie of the Month for January.

The 21-year-old was recognized for his commitment to the squad, his hard work on the field, his first goal, and an assist against FC Augsburg in January.

The exceptional young talent reached a high speed of 36.7 km/h in January, making him the Bundesliga’s fastest player.

Recall that the Black-Yellows were intrigued by Adeyemi’s excellent performance for RB Salzburg during the 2021–22 season campaign, when he scored 19 goals and provided 5 assists in 29 domestic league games.

A knock on Dietrich Mateschitz’s door with €30 million left him no choice but to allow the Munich native switch to join the Borrussians.

After his debut league game for Edin Terzić’s men, he fell off his starting line-up. But, after the post-World Cup break, Adeyemi has been firing on all cylinders for his team.

Following this, the club announced the youngster as the Rookie of the month on all social media platforms.

“Commitment, passion and the first goal. @karim_adeyemi was named @bundesliga Rookie of the Month.” the club announced via their official Instagram page.

Adeyemi, whose father hails from Ibadan, was recently spotted in Nigeria for a private visit. And even though he pledged his allegiance to Germany, he is aware of the origins of the Nigerian ethos.

This player with an Ibadan ancestry has relayed this by establishing a foundation in Nigeria that focuses on three intervention areas: soccer, education, and the environment in general.
