Confirmed: Spanish club Levante LP sign Nigeria’s four-time AWCON winner

Spanish football club Levante Las Planas have announced the signing of Super Falcons forward Ngozi Okobi-Okeoghene on a free transfer.

Ngozi Okobi-Okeoghene was at Eskilstuna United for five years before leaving the Swedish side in November when her contract there expired.

The former Washington Spirit attacker has now inked a five-year deal with Levante Las Planas which will keep her at her new home until 2028.

The 29-year-old will wear jersey number 22 at Levante where she teams up with Super Falcons teammate Rita Chikwelu. Asaba-born Chikwelu joined the Spanish Liga F club last year.

Okobi-Okeoghene began her football career at Delta Queens where she was until 2015 when she moved to the United States to join Washington Spirit in the National Women’s Soccer League.

She arrived in Europe the following year to play for Swedish club Vittsjö GIK before completing a move to Eskilstuna United in 2018.

At the international level, Okobi-Okeoghene made her debut for the Super Falcons in 2010 after excelling for the Falconets and the Flamingoes at three cadet World Cups.

The versatile forward was a member of the Nigerian squads that lifted the Africa Women’s Cup of Nations in 2010, 2014, 2016, and 2018.
