“You throw the title in the trash” – Hans Kraay Jr. insists Man United hero to blame if Chelsea sign exciting Super Eagles-eligible winger

Chelsea are closing in on the flying winger and should get their man inside Stamford Bridge in the coming days

Retired Dutch defender Hans Kraay Jr has expressed his displeasure with the plans of PSV Eindhoven coach Ruud van Nistelrooy to sanction the sale of Anglo-Nigerian attacker Noni Madueke to Chelsea.

Chelsea have flexed their muscles in the January transfer window after completing multi-million euro moves for Atletico Madrid’s Joao Felix and Shakhtar Donetsk’s Mykhailo Mudryk.

The Blues have their eyes trained next on PSV’s Noni Madueke and have already had an initial bid worth £30 million rejected by the Dutch club rejected.

The Londoners will get their man if they get close to PSV’s £40 million valuation and coach Ruud van Nistelrooy appear to have resigned to losing one of his finest attacking talents.

What has Van Nistelrooy said?

The former Manchester United hero even suggested that PSV are already looking for a replacement for Madueke.

As per the Mirror, Van Nistelrooy said: “It is now a case of looking for a good replacement. It looks like we could lose another big player this winter transfer window.

“I know that they (Chelsea) want Madueke. I would rather not let him go, but I can’t stop big clubs from showing such a massive interest in him.

“Madueke has created the interest by himself, because of his terrific qualities and his performances here in the Netherlands and in European games.

“I wanted to see if there was any way we could keep him here. My hope was on a longer spell of Madueke here at PSV Eindhoven.

“So I told the club to try and do everything to keep him. He is quality for this club. But I know things take a completely different turn when the big money comes on the table.”

How has Hans Kraay Jr. reacted?

But former Eindhoven, AZ, and RKC Waalwijk defender Hans Kraay Jr. is not impressed by Ruud van Nistelrooy’s submission.

Kraay Jr is surprised that PSV would consider selling Madueke in the same transfer window when they sold Cody Gakpo (to Liverpool).

The 63-year-old is convinced that PSV would not dare allow Madueke to leave if Nistelrooy insists on the youngster staying.

And the former FC Lienden manager believes PSV should wave the Eredivisie title bye in the event of the departure of Madueke.

“I can imagine Van Nistelrooy jumping off the flat,” Kraay Jr told ESPN, as per VoetbalPrimeur.

“You cannot lose Gakpo and Madueke, then you throw the title in the trash. I would lie down for this, whatever the supervisory board wants. Then just be as hard as FC Twente was to Ramiz Zerrouki.

“With Gakpo you lose half of the goals and Madueke is a bonus, he has hardly played in the first half of the season. Van Nistelrooij has to lie down for this.” he added.

After 16 matches played in the Eredivisie, PSV are joint-third with champions Ajax on 32 points, five behind leaders Feyenoord.
