Salernitana were looking to claim a big result at the Gewiss Stadium, but Lookman and his teammates had other ideas
Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman has expressed his satisfaction with Atalanta’s 8-2 demolition of Salernitana.
Atalanta equaled Inter Milan’s record after they put eight past a hapless Salernitana side on Sunday.
The Garnets put up an early fight against Gian Pero Gasperini’s side, but Atalanta proved their superiority. Super Eagles forward Lookman played a prominent role in the destruction, as he scored twice in the tie.
Lookman took his Serie A tally to nine this season, and that ensures that he remains Atalanta’s highest goal scorer in the league.
Speaking after the game, the former Leicester City forward expressed satisfaction with the result.
“We played well( against Salernitana), we were very aggressive in the first half and we pressed high,” Lookman said as per Salernitana news”
“We put great intensity into it, these are three important points. We immediately think about the next one.
“It was important to win in front of our fans. Let’s think match by match, give our best and we’ll see where we get. The championship is long”.
Up next for Atalanta is a tough fixture at the Allianz Stadium against Juventus. The Old Lady conceded five against Napoli last time out.
Lookman would look to continue with his team’s momentum and ensure that they give Juventus a run for their money.
