WATCH: Referees deny Delta Queens two legitimate goals at Rivers Angels in NWFL match

The issue of poor officiating has been one of the problems of the league, and it has not stopped

Nigeria Women Football League side Delta Queens were denied two legitimate goals by the referees in their away game against River Angels.

Delta Queens traveled to Port Harcourt for their NWFL week six fixture. The Queens were favorites to win the tie, as they had won four of their last five games, while Rivers Angels lost three of their five games.

Unfortunately, the game did not proceed without controversy. The referee ruled out a goal that was scored by Delta Queens because of a foul. However, they was no form of contact between the Delta Queens attacker and the Rivers United defender who fell after failing to clear the ball.

Delta Queens scored another goal, but the referee ruled it out for offside. The Delta-based side showed great skill playing intricate passes between themselves.

They scored a goal from that play but the referee ruled the goal out for offside.

The game ended goalless, but Delta Queens remain on top of the NWFL A despite the result.
