The Super Eagles striker was on target for his side in his last game, but he will be unavailable for his side’s Copa Italia game on Tuesday
Super Eagles striker Cyriel Dessers will be rested for Cremonese’s Copa Italia quarter-final clash against Napoli on Tuesday.
Dessers has been a consistent part of Cremonese’s lineup this season. He has made 16 league appearances for the Grigiorossi in the league.
Nonetheless, he has recorded just three goals this season in a poor Cremonese side that is yet to win a game in Serie A.
Dessers scored for the Grigiorossi in their last game against Monza which they lost 3-2.
However, he will not be available for their clash against Napoli. Fantacalcio reports that Dessers was not called up for the game.
However, it is only a precautionary measure. He will be rested for the fixture, but he is expected to return to action when Cremonese travel to Bologna next weekend.
Cremonese sacked their former coach Massimiliano Alvini after their loss to Monza on Saturday, and they employed the services of Davide Ballardini.
Dessers will look to hit top gear alongside his teammates as they look to avoid relegation this season.
