Onome Ebi: Super Falcons captain breaks silence after being axed by Levante Las Planas

Levante Las Planas sent the veteran defender packing after just 12 minutes of appearance with the club.

Super Falcons defender, Onome Ebi, who was released by Levante Las Planas following a poor performance, has broken silence.

The former Duvenciler Lisesispor center-back, who had only been with the Spanish team for four months, was allowed to leave after a lackluster stint during which she only made one appearance for the team.

Recall that the seasoned Nigerian defender joined the Liga F team in 2021, having finished her second season with the Belarusian powerhouse in 2021, making 19 appearances and scoring four goals.

The former Atasehir Belediyespor FC player anticipated that joining her tenth club would pave the door for her return to the Super Falcons squads, but the hamstring injury she sustained during Nigeria’s match against Morocco in the Africa Women’s Championship Semifinal in July 2022 proved to be a hindrance.

Before the Spanish club could eventually dump the 39-year-old, she was deemed surplus to requirements in December 2022.

The Nigerian defender has nonetheless used her social media platform to end the silence after the reports of her stunning exit.

“If only they understand what GRACE, DISCIPLINE, DEDICATION, CONSISTENCY, and HARD WORK can give you 😄🙏⚽️💪.” She wrote.

“GOD IS THE GREATEST 🙏.” she continued.

In order to prepare for the 2018 FIFA Women’s World Cup, the defender will be attempting to rapidly regain her form with the Super Falcons camp for the Revelation Cup Tournament next month.

Ebi, who did not receive a call-up to the Nigeria team for the October 6 friendly against Japan, would be eager to put in strong performances to regain her spot in the Super Falcons squad ahead of the 2023 World Cup event, a record-extending sixth participation if she makes it.
