Napoli coach Spalletti points out three important characteristics that make Osimhen unstoppable

The Nigeria international striker has had no equal in the Serie A this term to the admiration of his manager

Napoli manager Luciano Spalletti has reserved high praise for Victor Osimhen after the Super Eagles forward produced an excellent performance in the destruction of Juventus on Friday night.

Victor Osimhen grabbed a brace – a goal in each half, both from headers – and added an assist as league leaders Napoli forced a heavy 5-1 defeat down the throat of high-flying Juventus at the Diego Maradona Stadium.

Osimhen was involved in a lot of Napoli’s positive plays, with the former Lille lad holding up the ball well, battling hard, and ensuring the Juventus defence endured an uncomfortable evening.

For a player who had his skull boxed in just over a year ago following a clash of heads with an Inter Milan defender, Osimhen continues to show no fear in going into aerial challenges, evidenced by his headed goals against Juventus.

And it is this his courage, as well as his physical strength and speed to be devastating when at the receiving ends of long passes forward that Spalletti believes set Osimhen apart as a phenomenal talent.

“I am amazed by the potential Osimhen hasn’t put into practice yet,” Spalletti told DAZN as per Stadium Astro.

“He is devastating on long balls, can stand strong physically and has courage too.

“He’s had his face cut two or three times because he never backs down. He almost always takes risks but he’s a player who has potential and room for improvement.”

While his closest challengers for the top goalscorer award are presently on eight goals, Victor Osimhen has notched 12 goals in only 14 league appearances.
