“It’s exactly what I needed” – Man United Nigeria-eligible talent completes move to Bolton

Bolton has moved to replace Dapo Afolayan, who left for the German Bundesliga, with an English-Nigerian player.

Manchester United has completed an agreement to send Shola Shoretire, who is of Nigerian descent, on loan to Bolton Wanderers.

According to reports, The Trotters made a move to sign the young star on loan as a temporary backup for Dapo Afolayan, who made a move to 2. Bundesliga side, FC St Pauli.

The €4.00m rated youngster is expected to have a good time at the University of Bolton Stadium for a season-long spell till May 31.

Bolton’s Manager, however, while Shoretire is enjoying his stay with The Whites, reveals he will bolster the attack of the team and unlock defenses in their quest to keep firing on all cylinders in their top-six bid.

The Manchester United loanee, however, while commenting on his move, believes it is exactly what he needs.

“Coming here. I’m transitioning into the men’s game, it’s exactly what I needed. Hopefully, I’ll have a good loan here, and it will put me in a good place”, he said.

The 18-year-old was the youngest ever United player to play in the European competition when he played against Real Sociedad in February 2021).

Shola, who is English born but of Nigerian descent, is just on his path to stardom, and he is yet to pledge allegiance to any country’s national team. Although, he has played a few games for England’s youth teams.
