Former Nigeria youth international joins Apollon Limassol

Former Golden Eaglets defender Godswill has joined Cypriot club Apollon Limassol from Swedish side Norrkoping.

Ekpolo joined Norrkoping in a free transfer in January 2022 after spending four years at fellow Allsvenskan side Hacken.

The 28-year-old center-back began his career at Barcelona, rising through the ranks before leaving in 2014.

Last season, Ekpolo registered one goal in 30 appearances for Norrkoping, helping them to a twelfth-place finish in the Allsvenskan.

However, the former Fleetwood man has called time on his stay in Sweden, as Cypriot side Apollon Limassol announced via their site that they have secured his services till June 2024.

Apollon Limassol sit sixth in the Cypriot league with 35 points after 20 games, and they are looking to preserve their spot in the playoffs.

Ekpolo could give them that solidity in defense as they look to maintain their playoff spot in their last five fixtures.

The former Barcelona man has four caps for Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets.
