Erik ten Hag: Manchester United manager admires Super Eagles attacker in pursuit of a new striker

The Nigerian international may be on Manchester United’s list of potential players to sign, since the club is now looking for a new striker.

Manchester United manager, Erik ten Hag, is rumoured to fancy Nigerian international, Paul Onuachu, in his pursuit of a striker.

The Red Devils have been in hot chase of a new striker following the tragic exit of the Portuguese forward Cristiano Ronaldo from Old Trafford.

However, Edinson Cavani would have relieved the Dutchman if he had remained at the club but moved to Valencia before Ronaldo’s contentious issue with the United board.

This has left the Dutch manager with just Antony Martial as the primary striker, with Marcus Rashford assisting.

However, the 2022-23 season campaign seems to be packed with fixtures ranging from Premier League to Europa League, not to mention FA Cup and Carabao Cup matchups. This signals that the squad is on the hunt for striker.

While numerous sources have suggested that the English club is interested in attackers such as Cameroon’s Vincent Aboubakar and Burnley’s flop, Wout Weghorst, a fresh rumour suggests that Paul Onuachu may be another player the Dutch manager wants to add to the squad.

According to jeunesfooteux, the former Ajax boss admires the Super Eagles attacker, who has recently performed well for the Belgian outfit KRC Genk.

The Super Eagles forward, who is currently topping the Belgian league scoring chart with 13 goals, has piqued the interest of numerous English teams, including Aston Villa, Everton, and West Ham, who are looking to strengthen their squad for the long season campaign.

Given his outstanding performance so far, the 28-year-old striker, who is still under contract with the Belgian club until 2024, may be the ideal alternative for ten Hag.
