“Back soon”- Alex Iwobi finally reacts following an injury sustained during Everton’s tie against Manchester United

Alex Iwobi has not scored many goals for Everton, but his individual impact has been felt by Frank Lampard’s squad as they slip deeper into the relegation zone.

Nigerian forward, Alex Iwobi breaks silence after suffering an injury in Everton’s FA Cup match against Manchester United.

After being knocked down by Dutch international, Tyrell Malacia on Friday evening, the Super Eagles star, who has been brilliant in Everton’s bid to escape relegation to the second tier, suffered what seemed to be an ankle ligament injury.

However, the former Arsenal player was stretchered off the field after the risky tackle during an FA Cup match at Old Trafford.

Meanwhile, after the game, his manager, Frank Lampard, hoped the Injury was not too severe and stated that the 26-year-old would have a scan to determine the extent of the injury.

“We hope it’s not too serious,” he said.

“It looks like an ankle ligament injury. He will have a scan tomorrow to confirm,” he confirmed.

However, recent reports, according to Soccernet revealed that the Nigerian attacker has undergone a scan, and has been revealed by his father that the Injury is not as serious as it appears.

In a message by his father, he wrote, “Results of the scan are now out. It’s not as bad as previously thought – Alex will be out for approx 2 weeks. Thanks for all your support. Chuka”

Following this, Iwobi took to Instagram to send a positive message to his supporters, stating that he will be returning soon from his injury.

“Appreciate The love, Back Soon.” he wrote.

However, no news or comment has been issued by his manager or the club on the length of time the striker will be out as they play Southampton, West Ham, Arsenal, and Liverpool in their next four games.
