Super Eagles player holds positive contract negotiations with Everton

Super Eagles forward Alex Iwob holds positive talks with Everton over a new contract extension.

According to the report, the two sides’ negotiations have made good progress, and the club is now hopeful that it can sign the Nigerian international to a new deal.

The Super Eagles star has been impressive with his performance for the Merseysiders this season, scoring a goal and making 5 assists in 15 domestic league appearances.

The star scored his first Premier League goal of the season against the Premier League giant, Manchester United and it was a sight to behold but was not enough for his club to secure the victory.

Iwobi’s new contract is a three-and-a-half-year pact, which will keep him in Merseyside till 2026.

According to rumours, the midfielder’s new contract would boost his weekly salary from £70,000 to £100,000 per week.

Previously, as reported by Fabrizio Romano, his manager, Frank Lampard, verified this to Richard Buxton earlier, saying:

“Yes, I know that Thelwell’s speaking with Alex’s people on that front,”

“We will see how that one develops.”

Iwobi has put in strong performances for Everton, but the Toffees are still in danger of being demoted from the Premier League.

The Italian Journalist Fabrizio, however, recently took to his Social media page to reveal that positive talks have been held with The Blues, and a Long term deal will be signed by the Super Eagles.

“Alex Iwobi will soon sign new deal with Everton. Talks are well advanced, it’s gonna be new long term deal.” 🔵🔒. he wrote.

The Star will play for his club straight after the World Cup against Wolves, Manchester City, and Brighton.
