Nigeria international, Awoniyi, switched from German Bundesliga to Nottingham Forest last summer for a fee of around £17.5 million.
Nottingham Forest will look forward to signing Suriname forward Sheraldo Becker from Union Berlin in the next transfer window.
The Nottinghamshire side has previously enquired about the winger, according to Sky Sports Germany, and would soon force a change.
Currently occupying a depressing 18th spot in the Premier League standings, Nottingham will seek opportunities to sign players who can help them escape the relegation zone.
However, it should be recalled that the English side that was just promoted to the Premier League strengthened their squad last summer with many transfers.
The Nigerian striker Awoniyi from Union Berlin and his countryman Emmanuel Dennis from Watford were two of these additions.
The Super Eagles forward earned the Iron ones somewhere about £17.5 million, and they will want to ask for at least as much for Becker, whose contract with the German side expires in June 2023.
In 15 Bundesliga appearances, the Surinamese player, who is an excellent attacker, has seven goals and four assists.
Sheraldo Becker and the Nigerian international played together 48 times at Stadion An der Alten Försterei, according to Berliner-Zeitung. And these may be the same motives behind The Tricky Trees’ attempt to get him to City Ground Stadium so he may aid the Super Eagles’ forwards in scoring.
