Portugal 4-0 Nigeria: Selecao trounce shambolic Super Eagles

Nigeria fielded a strong team, but they failed to show cohesion against a prolific Portuguese side

The Super Eagles of Nigeria suffered a 4-0 loss to Portugal at the Estadio Jose Alvalade in Lisbon.

Nigeria squared off against Portugal in the Selecao’s only Pre-World Cup fixture before they jet out to Qatar.

Coach Jose Peseiro fielded a strong lineup, with Fenerbahce star Bright Osayi-Samuel getting his national team debut.

However, the Super Eagles were shambolic from the start, and it did not take long before they fell behind.

Manchester United duo Diogo Dalot and Bruno Fernandes combined for Portugal first in the 9th minute. The latter then bagged his second goal of the game in the 35th minute, converting coolly from the spot after Osayi-Samuel handled the ball in the box.

Nigeria looked better in the second half, and they had a chance to half the deficit from the spot. However, Emmanuel Dennis missed his spot-kick.

The Super Eagles paid for the miss minutes later, with Goncalo Ramos and Joao Ramos scoring in the 82nd and 84th minutes to complete the 4-0 result.

  • IF COACH PASEIRO DOESN’T WANT TO FAIL WITH SUPER EAGLE, HE SHOULD STOP/FORGET USING PLAYERS BY NAME/EGO. HE SHOULD GO OUT ALL OVER THE UNIVERSE AND SCOUT FOR A PLAYERS THAT ARE READY TO DIE ON PITCH (like Osayi-samuel, Uche-Azuibuke, Ebere-Eze, Amao,Osimhen,Dessers). UNLESS HE WILL MAKE A RECORD OF WORST EVER COACH IN THE HISTORY OF NIGERIA SUPER EAGLE. BECAUSE IT HAS BEEN LONG NIGERIA HAVE EXPERIENCE SUCH HUGE DEFICIT SCORELINE (AGAINST PORTUGAL)
