Market value update: Osimhen unshaken, Moffi hits career-high, Onyekuru rises, Moses falls

Following Transfermarkt’s market value update, some Super Eagles stars have seen a sharp increase or decrease in their estimated worth.

Moffi, Onyekuru on the rise

FC Lorient forward Terem Moffi has seen his transfer value rise to a career-high €15 million following an excellent start to the 2022-2023 Ligue 1 campaign.

The Nigeria international has scored eight goals in 12 appearances in the French Championship, outgunned only by the trio of PSG’s Kylian Mbappe, Neymar Junior, and Lille’s Jonathan David.

At his new market value, Moffi is now Nigeria’s tenth-most-valued footballer and fifth among Nigeria’s centre-forwards. The 23-year-old is also the most valuable player at Lorient.

Another Nigerian international who enjoys an increase in his value is Henry Onyekuru. After a forgettable spell in Greece, the 25-year-old winger is back in Turkey, where he is pulling the attacking strings for Adana Demirspor.

On loan from Olympiakos, Onyekuru has accounted for four goals and two assists in 12 appearances.

And his efforts have been rewarded with a market value of €6 million, the highest of any player at Adana Demirspor.

Which Super Eagles stars have dropped in value?

Despite scoring four goals and providing two assists in 11 Ligue 1 games, Nantes winger Simon Moses has dropped from a career-high value of €10 million to nine.

Moses is not the only Super Eagles star whose value has taken a hit.

West Brom centre-back Semi Ajayi now has a market value of €3.5 million, a drop from four.

Super Eagles captain and Sivasspor ace Ahmed Musa and vice-captain William Troost-Ekong (Watford) have also plunged to lows of 3 million euros apiece.

Watford goalkeeper Maduka Okoye has reaped the benefits of not being number at his club as his market worth decreases to €2.5 million.

Osimhen stays at number one

Despite the value adjustments, Napoli forward Victor Osimhen, however, remains Nigeria’s most valuable player at €65 million.

The 23-year-old goal-king also retains his soot at number one in Napoli, sixth in Serie A and eighth among the centre-forwards in the world.
