The Nigeria international joined the Reds from Watford in the summer on a permanent deal
Super Eagles forward Emmanuel Dennis claimed his first Premier League assist for Nottingham Forest in their thrilling 2-2 draw with Brentford at the City Ground on Saturday afternoon.
Nigerian forward Taiwo Awoniyi was a second-half substitute for Forest, while compatriot Frank Onyeka also made it to the pitch off the bench for Brentford.
But it was Emmanuel Dennis who made the first telling contribution in the encounter as he laid the assist for the home side’s opener.
Dennis played a pass into the path of Morgan Gibbs-White in the 20th minute.
There was more to do for the forward, but he did it with quality, weaving his way through the Brentford defence before unleashing a powerful finish.
Brentford, however, equalised moments before the halftime break courtesy of Bryan Mbeumo’s penalty.
Former Lorient man Yoane Wissa put the visitors ahead midway through the second period, but a late Mathias Joergensen own goal earned Forest a share of the spoils.
Dennis’ assist is his second goal contribution in the Premier League since teaming up with the Reds in the summer.
The Nigerian forward’s first came in October when he scored in the 1-1 draw against Aston Villa at the City Ground.
The former Club Brugge ace also has one assist in the EFL Cup, when he helped Nottingham Forest to a 3-0 defeat of Grimsby in August.
