2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup: Super Falcons to face Australia, Canada in tough-looking Group B

The draw for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup has seen former African champions Nigeria placed in Group B together with hosts Australia, Canada, and Ireland.

The Super Falcons are one of the nations to have made it to every final of the Women’s World Cup, and they have booked their spot in Australia and New Zealand in 2023.

The record African champions will, however have a tough task of making it past the group stages at the first Women’s World Cup to be hosted by two countries.

Co-hosts Australia are gunning for their first-ever title, with quarterfinal outings their best results at the World Cup.

Canada, ranked seventh in the world, are one of four CONCACAF representatives and among the toughest national teams at the World Cup.

The Canadians have made eight previous appearances at the Mundial, finishing fourth in 2003.

Nigeria will be making a tenth World Cup appearance in Australia and need to at least beat one of Canada and Australia to stand a chance of making it to the next round.

The World Cup is scheduled to take place from 20 July to 20 August 2023.
