“We are surely going to defeat Algeria” – Unofficial Super Eagles debutant boasts

Super Eagles new entrant, Saviour Godwin was in a good mood as he made an impressive albeit unofficial debut against Algeria B team on Friday

The 2013 Under-17 World Cup squad member has boasted ahead of Tuesday’s clash against the Desert Foxes of Algeria.

The Casa Pia winger showed a combination of  quick feet and fast thinking to set up Nigeria’s first goal on Friday night.

With an impressive debut to his name, he may be given an opportunity to make his first senior national team appearance against Algeria, having represented Nigeria at the U-17 and U-20 levels.

“It’s really amazing for me to play my first game with the Super Eagles, I feel really excited.

“We had a test game and this is good for everyone for us to get to know each other and get ourselves better.

“It was really an amazing outing for me and collectively as a team I feel this is a very good test game for us. ”

What did Peseiro tell Super Eagles players?

Peseiro spoke to the players before the game and Godwin said he charged them to take every game like a World Cup final.

“He said every game is like a World Cup final, we have to win every game, we have to have the mentality of winning, we have to have the ambition to win.

“Before the game he said this and that is what we went into the pitch with, with the mindset of winning.”

“Algeria is a big team. It’s one of the finest in Africa. Of course when we go into the pitch we want to win and I think it’s going to be a really good game for us.

“We want to win and we are surely going to win the game.”
