Ex-Arsenal star Iwobi unveils music studio – Studio 17

During the Everton midfielder’s spare time, he takes to music and has a studio in his home in the North West

When Alex Iwobi is not slicing in nutmegs and dropping shoulders and feints, he’s passing and bossing the midfield for Everton. Like many other footballers who have found a second world in another art, Iwobi also loves his music, so much that he has a studio in his home – Studio 17 named after his jersey number.

“As a kid, I’ve always loved listening to music. Going to school, in the bus, everywhere I go. my family loves music, a couple of other families (around us) love music. At 6 years old, me and my friends just go to the studios for fun. I said whenever I get a home and settle, I’ll like to… I don’t wanna leave my home. I’m comfortable in my home so I ended up building this (the studio).

“It is nice and makes me not leave the house. I’ll say 80% of the time, I’m here just chilling. Even if I’m not listening to music, I’m just here chilling,” he told Everton TV.

Back in the day, Taribo West, a former Super Eagles defender also appeared and sang in a music video composed by African footballers in the Serie A including current Liberian President, George Weah, with Ronaldo De Lima, Zinedine Zidane and Alessandro Del Piero part of the players watching in the audience.
