Mohammed Salah scored the equaliser for Liverpool against Fulham and in the process equalled the records by three former England internationals
Salah grabbed Liverpool’s equaliser in the 80th minute to level against Fulham.
Liverpool had to come back from behind twice to pick a result from the game as they were left rattled by a wave of Fulham pressing.
Salah with his goal has now scored eight opening day goals, the highest in the Premier League alongside Frank Lampard, Alan Shearer and Wayne Rooney.
Salah was far from his best, like the rest of his teammates but was still on hand to nick an equaliser.
The goal proved to be another justification of why Liverpool bent behind backwards to give the Egyptian a mega new contract.
Fulham also had big goal scorer, Aleksandr Mitrovic to thank for delivering the goods in a game many wrote them off before it started.
Their return to the Premier League must have left good memories but same cannot be said of Jurgen Klopp.
Klopp is known for incessant excuses and he didn’t leave London without mentioning one.
Many things have been blamed for an average performance in the past but this time, the pitch gets a honourable mention from the Liverpool manager.
“A really bad game. How can that happen? The attitude was not right in the beginning. We tried to react after 15 minutes. The pitch was dry, stuff like this. Really difficult,” he told BT.
Robbie Fowler still sits top in the top Premier League scorers for Liverpool with Steven Gerrard second. Both Englishmen have 128 goals and 120 respectively.
Mohammed Salah’s goal for Liverpool against Fulham was his 119th for Liverpool, leaving him nine short of Fowler’s goals record.
