Super Eagles star was in the works again as part of a pair of midfield base and thrived in the position again
Alex Iwobi was one of Everton’s best performers against Aston Villa as he stood out again in the number 6 position.
Iwobi was the best player for the Toffees for the second week running as he covered distance relentlessly and pushed the team from his position.
Playing in a new position, the former Arsenal man rose to the occasion again but couldn’t prevent Everton from losing their second Premier League game in as many games.
Iwobi made 58 touches and completed 81% of his 48 passes.
It was an impressive afternoon for the Nigerian as he completed majority of his attempts, tackled and won duels.
The Super Eagles star tweeted on Sunday “Reflect, Analyse, Go Again…” and had Everton fans comment positively on his tweet.
Everton fans are falling in love with Iwobi as his desire has been immense. While he’s not the finished material, they see in him, a man who has grown greatly in the last one year.
From the struggles and difficulty of seeing an Iwobi feature, he’s probably the first name on the team sheet at the moment and has stepped up further.
Everton may have lost their opening Premier League games to Chelsea and Aston Villa, but Iwobi has proven as a dependable player so far.
