The Reds have added another Nigeria international to their ranks a few weeks after sealing a club-record deal for Taiwo Awoniyi
With a statement on their official website, Nottingham Forest have announced the signing of Emmanuel Dennis from Watford after the former Club Brugge ace passed his medical.
Forest have not provided any financial detail regarding the deal. But the Reds are believed to have agreed a permanent four-year deal with Dennis.
The total package could see Forest pay £20 million for the Super Eagles attacker, making him the most expensive signing in the club’s history.
Until Dennis arrived at the City Ground, international teammate Taiwo Awoniyi was Nottingham Forest’s biggest buy for €17.5 million from Germany’s Union Berlin.
Dennis will be expected to team up with Awoniyi and bolster the attacks of the Reds that Newcastle United so clearly outclassed in the opening weekend of the Premier League campaign.
Nottingham Forest are assured that they have acquired a proven EPL performer. In his debut season in the English top-flight, Dennis hit ten goals in 33 league starts for a struggling Watford side.
The 24-year-old will be rearing to go after impressing in the Hornet’s first two matches in the Championship.
However, he is unlikely to feature in Nottingham Forest’s Sunday afternoon meeting at home with West Ham United.
