Paul Scholes wants Manchester United to sign Super Eagles midfielder

Manchester United legend believes Nigeria’s best midfielder and one of the Super Eagles’ best players should be lured to Old Trafford

Paul Scholes has called on Manchester United manager, Erik Ten Hag to sign Wilfred Ndidi ahead of the new season.

Scholes described Ndidi as one of the best defensive midfielders in the game and one who won’t come expensive as he was previously deemed, owing to the years remaining on his contract at Leicester.

Ndidi has been out injured for more than two months but has managed to be amongst the finest performers in his position and Scholes, a world class midfielder in his days and a prominent Mancunian voice has said the Nigerian will fit the bill.

“Leicester’s Wilfred [Ndidi] still very much fits the bill of what Man United are looking for, and with just two years remaining on his contract at Leicester, it’s likely to cost significantly less than the eye-watering sums associated with him in summer past,” Scholes told Football Daily YouTube channel per Punch newspapers.

“And while he missed the last two months of the season with a knee injury, he remains one of the best defensive midfielders in the game when fit, averaging an astounding 6.5 tackles and interceptions each match and ranking in the top seven per cent of midfielders for aerial duels, too.”
