Ligue 1 champions PSG urged to beat Man United to Super Eagles star

The Nigeria international is considered a class above many of the midfield options currently available for the French giants

2021/22 Ligue 1 winners Paris Saint-Germain have been urged to include Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi in their transfer plans this summer.

Ndidi is recovering from a knee injury that has kept him out of action since March, but he remains one of the best defensive midfielders in the English Premier League.

While the Nigeria international is not the best passer of the ball, few players can match his ball tackling, interception, and recovery stats.

Manchester United legend Paul Scholes is a huge admirer of the Super Eagles midfielder, and the Englishman has called on his former team to move for the 25-year-old.

But United faithfuls are not the only ones dreaming of having Ndidi in their teams, with PSG Analysis’s Nikhil also rating the Nigerian dynamo ahead of the French side’s crop of midfielders.

Ndidi is believed to be an upgrade on Danilo Pereira, Georginio Wijnaldum, Ander Herrera, and Idrissa Gueye, noting that the former Genk man would be a perfect partner for Italian maestro Marco Verratti.

Part of the report reads: “Wilfred Ndidi’s performances show that he would be better than any midfielder at PSG, barring Verratti. One could imagine Ndidi winning the ball and Verratti pulling the strings in midfield for PSG.

“However, it would be difficult to prize him out from Leicester City, as the French Champions would face competition for his services from Manchester United, who are also in desperate need of a defensive midfielder.”

Ndidi has spent five and a half years in England, having arrived in Leicester City from Genk in January 2017 for €17.60 million. He, however, only has two years left on his contract.
