The Nigeria international’s contract expires at the end of June, and Union Berlin are not willing to offer him another deal
German Bundesliga 2. side Karlsruher could sign Super Eagles striker Anthony Ujah when the 31-year-old’s contract expires at the end of June.
Ujah arrived in Berlin three years ago, but his importance at the club has continued to wane especially with the entrance of exciting talents like compatriot Awoniyi.
The Iron Ones sealed a spot in Europe thanks to a 3-2 victory over Bochum. However, on a personal note, Ujah had a disappointing campaign. The 31-year-old recorded only three appearances across all competitions. And Union Berlin are willing to let the former Mainz man go this summer when his contract expires.
According to Tranfermarkt, Ujah could remain in Germany, albeit in the second division, as Karlsruher are looking to sign the 31-year-old.
The last time Ujah played in the second division was in 2014 when he helped FC Koln gain promotion to the top flight. He spent three years at the club scoring 34 goals in 94 appearances.
He would look to help Karlsruher improve on their 12th-place finish of last season if the deal materializes.
