Former Trinidad and Tobago defender, Marvin Andrews has tipped Super Eagles defender for a big future
Andrews, a former Rangers defender has said the Super Eagles star has a big career ahead of him and will shine in the game if he stays free from serious injuries.
Bassey has grown into one of the finest defenders in the Scottish league and may be destined for more according to the former Rangers star. His performances helped him finish in the Europa League Team of the Season last term and he also won the man-of-the-match award in Rangers’ Scottish Cup final triumph.
The former Leicester defender has also made six Super Eagles appearances in the last three months and is on course for many more if he keeps fit and in good spirits.
“It is very important, the defence, big Connor [Goldson] has been tremendous, Calvin Bassey is strong, athletic. He’s only 22 as well,” Andrews said per Glasgow Live Sport.
“If he can avoid any serious injuries then he can go on to have a very big future ahead of him. There’s a bit of interest but you were going to get that. They reached a European final and made their mark.”
