Barcelona won their 28th game of the season out of 28 on Thursday as they came from behind to hammer Sevilla Femeni 5-1
Asisat Oshoala scored her first goal since returning from a two-month injury layoff on Thursday as Barcelona Femeni thrashed their opponents in the week 28 of the La Liga Women’s league.
Super Falcons forward Toni Payne helped Sevilla to a shocking lead in the 40th minute, ten minutes after Oshoala had gotten booked.
After what looked like Barcelona’s first dropped points of the season, they soon dug deep and brought their firepower in the second half.
Claudia Pina restored the league champions and Champions League finalists lead in the 58th minute after being helped by Mariona Caldentey.
Oshoala gave Barcelona a lead for the first time in the game on the 63rd minute. The Super Falcons star’s goal followed key introductions to Barcelona including captain Alexia Putellas and Aitana Bonmati.
Putellas made it three for the European champions in the 74th minute and was provider fourteen minutes later to help Caldentey to her goal on the night.
Jennifer Hermoso completed the rout and extended Barcelona’s winning run to 28 in as many games.
It was Oshoala’s 20th goal of the season in 18 league games.
