Scamacca better than Osimhen – Fedele

The Super Eagles striker has just been named the best under-23 player in the Italian top-flight

Italian football pundit Enrico Fedele has claimed that compatriot and Sassuolo forward Gianluca Scamacca is a better centre-forward than Napoli striker Victor Osimhen.

Fedele is also convinced that Osimhen is not worth the 100 million euros Napoli is demanding from the youngster’s English Premier League suitors as he is not fully matured yet.

The argument favouring Scamacca may be supported by the 23-year-old’s goal output this season, as he has netted 16 goals in 35 league appearances for Sassuolo.

Osimhen, however, boasts a better goal ratio than the Italy international; the Nigerian forward scoring 14 times in only 26 Serie A games.

Osimhen’s four goals in five Europa League matches take his tally for the season to 18 and has seen his stock rise as one of the most in-demand strikers on the continent.

Three Premier League giants Manchester United, Arsenal, and Newcastle United, have all shown interest in taking Osimhen to England.

And Napoli is believed to be willing to part with their prized assets for a minimum transfer fee of 100 million euros.

But former Udinese coach Fedele insists that that significant fee is too much for a striker who only shines when flanked by flying wingers.

“Is Osimhen worth 100 million? Not for me, a maximum of 50 million euros,” Fedele told Radio Marte as per Tutto Napoli.

“I think the president meant that he has yet to mature because he is immature.
(Gianluca) Scamacca is more complete than Osimhen, and he contributes more.

“Osimhen needs players who cross the ball; he needs a winger who creates one two because he wants to finish with a strong foot.”

Serie A has announced Osimhen as the league’s best U-23 star for the 2021-22 season, despite the young star missing eleven of Napoli’s 37 matches.

  • You’re not the same round like everyone else if you break it.

  • They are all good players with potential for further development and success. Hopefully they will have more and more beautiful goals.
