Rangers currently have Nigerian stars on their books with three of them featuring regularly but wants another exciting prospect from the West African country
The Gers have lined up Bolton Wanderers’ star, Dapo Afolayan as potential replacement for Ryan Kent.
Kent, 25, is set to exit the club as he’s linked to a move abroad after meritorious years of service at Ibrox and growing as a fans’ favourite.
Afolayan had an impressive season under Ian Evatt as he finished with 14 goals and 7 assists in the League 2.
Regarded as an exciting player by the club, like the Nigerian legend who is one of Bolton’s best players of all time, Jayjay Okocha, Afolayan is highly regarded at the University of Bolton Stadium.
Respected journalist, Alan Nixon confirmed that the attacker is still on Rangers’ radar as Kent looks to make a Premier League switch.
Premier League’s new boys Fulham and Cardiff City have also been mentioned as potential destinations for Afolayan whose market value is believed to be in the region of £1.2m.
There are however doubts over the player’s readiness for the top level as he’s not been seen outside the League 2 or for a longer period.
