The former Dutch champions have been in a fix as to how to get funds to sign Dessers permanently, but they may have found a way out of their dilemma
Former Dutch champions Feyenoord could secure Cyriel Dessers’ permanent stay at the club this summer, as they could earn up to €2.2million from the potential sale of Dutch striker Bryan Linssen to Japanese club Urawa Red Diamonds.
Dessers has been outstanding for Feyenoord since he joined on loan from Genk last summer. However, the Nigerian star’s future hangs in the balance. While they admitted their readiness to sign the striker, Feyenoord have also complained about financial constraints.
The Limburgers are demanding €4million for Dessers, but Feyenoord have tried to beat down the price.
Nonetheless, Voetbalnieuws reports that the former Dutch champions could get up to €2.2million from the sale of Linssen to Urawa Reds. The amount is more than half of Genk’s demand for Dessers.
If the deal goes through, Feyenoord should be willing to break the bank for the striker that has taken them to their first European final in 20 years.
