Super Eagles star on course for big double as club qualifies for cup final

The league leaders took a step forward to winning the Taca De Portugal title

FC Porto completed the business over Sporting Lisbon in the second leg of the Taca De Portugal semifinal game.

Their Nigerian export, Zaidu Sanusi gave a good account of himself in the game as he starred for the entire duration of the contest.

Sanusi helped Porto keep a solid defensive resolve as they kept a clean sheet in the game.

Porto had won the first leg 2-1 and completed a 3-1 aggregate with the second leg result.

Sanusi was near his best in the game, showing a good mix of his defensive and attacking qualities. While he lost possessions 16 times in the game, he won majority of his duels and completed 90% of his passing.

He had 61 touches, had no cross and missed a big chance.

Toni Martinez’s 82nd-minute winner courtesy of an assist by Pepe was all Porto needed to wrap up the fixture as they look to win a double this season.

Porto will face Tondela in the final after the relegation candidates defeated Marla in the semifinal.

The Dragons are also favourites for the title, leading Sporting with nine points and four games left to be played.
