Osimhen finally scores against the seven sisters, impresses in Napoli loss

Super Eagles attacker, Victor Osimhen scored and assisted for Napoli as they suffered a 3-2 loss at the Maradona against Fiorentina.

The goal was Osimhen’s first against the other parts of the seven sisters of Italian football comprising Inter, AC Milan, Juventus, Lazio, Fiorentina, AS Roma. It was his ninth game against them.

Nico Gonzalez scored the first for Fiorentina in the first half as Napoli struggled to contain their opposition.

Osimhen was played through in a fast counterattack in the 58th minute and he intelligently set up Dries Mertens to score the leveler for the Neapolitans.

Former Lille midfielder and Osimhen’s former teammate at the French club, Jonathan Ikone doubled Fiorentina’s advantage in the 66th minute before Brazilian Arthur Cabral made it more difficult for Napoli two minutes after.

Osimhen scored a beautifully-taken goal to reduce the deficit for Napoli in the 84th minute after meeting a long pass from the defense with a chest control and a sublime finish.

It was Osimhen’s 12th goal of the season and his fourth assist in 21 league games.
